In the latest episode, I talked about the days of Napster. The more I think about it and talk about it with others,I realize more and more just how groundbreaking it really was. Sure it was 100% illegal in the long run and got shut down. But that didn't matter, still doesn't really. I mean look at the time of when it really came on the scene. The internet was nowhere near what is today and the idea of a music service was nowhere to be found. Yet two guys said " hey I got an idea!" And just like that, the way we heard and got new music changed forever.
Amazon Music,Spotify,Apple Music and many more all spawned from Napster and what it showed the industry a music sharing program could do. Again take all the legal crap out of the picture, Napster was s breath of fresh air. I am sure some artists would disagree but it's true. I can't tell you how many new bands I discovered because Napster and many I still follow and listen to today.
